First, it was Valentines's weekend 15 years ago when I first knew I would spend the rest of my life with Joseph. I don't know what it was exactly, but I knew. He was sick, and it was my job to make him feel better. It felt good to take care of him. It still does and not just when he's sick. I love to make him smile and laugh, especially if he's having a rough time. I love to pamper him and let him see a fraction of how much I love him. I wish I could do even more for him, but he's just so darn good at everything. Plus, he beats me to it more often than not. ;) He is simply the best and perfectly made for me. I thank God for answering that prayer with such a special man.
Eight years later, we welcomed our son into the world on a Valentine's evening. Our world was changed forever, and we began a whole new adventure. Aiden has been precious and precocious since the day he was born. He makes us so very proud. He makes us laugh. There are times he drives us crazy, but they don't compare to the times he makes us smile. I am amazed on a daily basis at how smart and caring this boy can be. I find it hard to call him a little boy because he really isn't anymore, but he's not quite a young man either. He's just a boy - a marvelous, wonderful, energetic, smart boy.
God is so good to me to have given me such sweethearts on Valentine's Day.
