Support small business

We had the best dinner tonight at Far East Chinese restaurant in Springdale.

They actually used to be in Rogers, and Joseph really liked going there for lunch.  He was pretty sad when they closed.  We  didn't know they had reopened in Springdale until we happened to go there because Palm Noodle Bar in Lowell is closed for a couple if weeks.

What made them so good?  The small business atmosphere!!!  The customer service was great! The food was fresh and yummy.  The ambiance was relaxed. Joseph compared it to having dinner at a friend's house.  There were definite regulars coming and going.  The owner's kids were playing.  I loved it!!

The ironic thing is they were supposed to be closed.  They have reduced summer hours because the oldest son plays travel ball (baseball on a traveling team), but he wasn't playing this weekend.  They can't find reliable, trustworthy help, so they have to close.  There are 2 ways to look at this:

1.  The beauty of your own small business is that you can put your family first and set your own hours.  It's one of the main reasons direct sales is one of the fastest growing areas right now for employment.

2.  It's sad that this family has to sacrifice income because they can't find adequate help, especially considering the unemployment rate.  It blows my mind how picky, selfish, and lazy some people are these days.

At any rate, I loved it!  We will definitely go back (call first on the weekends to see if they are traveling).  I'm sure before long they will know our names and our stories and us theirs.  It reminds me of Anna from Golden Wok back in the day in Batesville.  LOVE IT!!!!
