Snowmaggedon Day 3

Well, day care was open today even though schools were closed. I got the call from Rogers around 5:30 this morning. I initially thought it was my alarm, so I hit it (naturally). Then I heard a voice, so I hit it again. LOL! As I'm snuggling back in the covers, it dawned on me that was the phone and not the alarm. I checked my recent call list and saw the familiar number, but since I'd "answered" my phone I didn't have a message. So, I checked Facebook and confirmed from 2 sources that indeed school was closed. About 30 minutes later, I got the text from day care saying they were going to be open from 9-4. Bummer! That means I should probably go to work. Oh well, at least I could cuddle in the bed for a little while longer. We dropped Aiden off with my mom and headed off to Rogers. The roads were getting worse by the second because we were getting all kinds of winter precipitation - snow, sleet, freezing rain. There was no happy wiper speed, so visibility was limited there, too. I was so glad Joseph was driving. Work was very busy. I had quite a bit of my own work to do, and the production gals couldn't make it to the office in the crazy weather. It was kind of stressful, but it made the day go by pretty fast. I did manage to get almost everything done. Tomorrow I can focus on billing, hopefully. Yes, I said tomorrow. It looks like a repeat of today. School is closed, so Aiden is spending the night with Nana. I'm sure they will stay up late and sleep late - lucky them! Day care will be open from 9-4, so we can sleep a little later than usual for a Wednesday. I'm guessing the roads will be terribly. There were some VERY slick spots on the way home, and I'm sure those will increase with black ice on the few spots that melted today. I'm not sure Aiden will go back to school this week. Temperatures are going to be super low the next couple of days, and we could get more snow. I'm glad we didn't book a vacation for early June because we will still be in school. Springdale is matching their record of 10 snow days in a school year with tomorrow's closing. CRAZY!! Part of me wishes I could just stay home with the kids, but it's kind of nice to get out of the house and talk to adults and feel important too. I'm glad I can make it, and Kim and Megan can stay home. They have way too far to travel in such treacherous conditions. I've done about all I planned to do tonight, so I think I'm going to go curl up with a book and might turn in a little early. Good night! ~Heather
